Hi all

"Everything Burns" by Ben Moody featuring Annastasia will be up soon after this is posted. I hadn't touched it for a week, and when I went back and watched what I had done I thought "Hey, since it's suppose to be about Rogue and her world falling apart, why not make it look like she dies at the end?" So I did. I like the vid, and I hope you do too.

I'm simultaneously (had to look up the spelling of that :-) ) working on a vid for "Best of You" by the Foo Fighters, as well as one for "Edge of Seventeen" by Jonas (originally by Stevie Nicks).

I'm out of town next week and have no idea when I'll have a chance to finish more videos.

While I'm waiting for a final decision on the "Home" video, I think I'll make one for "Femme Like You" by K-Maro. He's a hip-hop artist out of Quebec, and I've had the song stuck in my head for a while, but it's mostly in French so I'll have to add a link to the translation of the lyrics (I'm not a hip-hop fan, but I thought I'd do something different). It's about two people who want to go the end of the world for each other, so the vid will be Logan/Rogue.

Hi everyone

I could use your help. I'm making a video for "Home" by Three Days Grace, which will focus on relationships going wrong in the X-Men Mansion. I don't know who to focus on, so I figured I'd leave it up to you guys.

Below is a list of possibilities for the video. To vote for your favourite, simply reply to this message with the option number in the body of the comment. All comments are automatically anonymous, and I'm not expecting any added messages, so don't feel uncomfortable about voting.

The video for "Save Yourself" by Sense Field is up. It's Bobby/Rogue, anti-Logan/Rogue which I'm proud of since I really do not like the Bobby/Rogue relationship. I think I did a great job on this one, but let me know what you guys think.

One More Thing

Oh yeah

Not that I'll ever get tired of making x-men videos, but are there any other movies you guys would like to see videos for? (I like Buffy and Angel vids as well, but all those episodes would fill my hard drive up, so I don't think I can make any of those) I'm a movie maniac and have a collection of dvd's I'm always adding to, so there's lots of possibilities. I'd also like to try some weird pairings, or focus on different characters in my vids (I've gotten requests for a Nightcrawler vid, but there's so few clips of him that I'll have to add Storm in there as well and make it a pairing).

If a lot of people want other movies thrown in, I'll post a list of what I have, and what I can get.

Time Is Running Out

RJ Boo (previously named Kitty) has finished the video for "Time Is Running Out" by Muse. I think its pretty good so I hope you all like it. I'll be putting it up on the site later today. RJ's also working on another vid, which I've now forgotten (sorry RJ!) I'm sure it will be just as good.

Twisted_Lil_Punk is going to be making some more videos, and whether or not they're from the requests list will depend on movie maker cooperativeness (he's done 5 seconds on two requested videos, and they're already corrupted :-( ) He's got some good ideas for other vids, including "In The Shadows" by The Rasmus.

I don't know when I'll get to finishing "To The Moon And Back" by Savage Garden.

I'll keep you updated on what's going on as I find out.

Getting Help

I've been offered some help by twisted_lil_punk and kitty_pride_shadow_cat ( I guess I'll just call her kitty from now on :-) ), so they're each going to make vids for one or two of the requests. Sorry if the people who requested them wanted only me to make them, but I like twisted's work, and kitty has also made vids of her own before.

I've got some ideas of my own which I'll probably fit in between the requests.

I've been getting some great song ideas from you guys, so keep 'em coming. Comments posted on this blog are anonymous unless you write your name at the end, so please don't be shy. I only ask one small thing of you: when you submit a song idea, please think about how the lyrics would work out in a vid. Songs that mention specific event or people don't work out as well as a song with lyrics that can be anyone, anywhere, anytime, and mean anything. I'm not trying to be picky and will make any vid that's suggested, so if there's a song that your just dying to see as a vid, even though your not sure how it will work, feel free to send it in anyway :-)

If anyone else who has made videos before want to help out, please let me know. I'd usually do them all myself, but the request list is isn't exactly short, and I want to make up for past couple of months where there were no new videos.

I'm in Montreal from the 30th to 2nd, with no internet so you may not hear from me for a while. I check my email every chance I get so keep sending feedback good or (constructively) bad.

Standing Still Revived!

Yay!

I was fiddling around with some files on my computer and managed to fix the vid for "Standing Still" by Jewel. It's pretty much intact, except that the last twenty seconds or so is a black screen - it wasn't a very interesting part to start off with so it doesn't really matter. The vid is up now.

As well, I was making some short test vids to see if movie maker was behaving and it seems like it is, so I'll try and make a few more videos within the next couple of days to make up for the long wait, and to hold you over until my schedual's a little more cleared up.

I'm going to try and make a dent in that waiting list of requests, so they'll be the songs I'm working on. I have no problem adding on to it though, so keep on sending in your song titles.

I also have a question for you: how often to you check this blog for updates, compared to my site itself? I get alot of feedback from both sources, but I find it hard to update the blog without a new video - there's simply not much to say other than I'm working on it. If a lot of people write and say that they check the blog often, then I'll try and update it more, so please send a short reply :-)

I'll save the rest of what I want to say for the next update.

Video Almost Up

I've completed the video for "Standing Still" by Jewel, but am having problems exporting it as a movie file. Hopefully the vid will be up within a couple of days. I'll keep working on others in the meantime.

A friend of mine if going to lend me another movie editing program. Hopefully its better than movie maker. If not, I'll probably end up going on kazaa and finding another program (I know its wrong, but I'm just that desperate).

Bugs Worked Out

Hi all

I've finally got all of the bugs worked out of my new computer and will have at least two new vids on my site this weekend. Yay!

I've gotten an offer to place an ad for BuySellTix.com on my site, and they're paying an ok amount so I'm gonna do it. It'll be at the bottom of my page and look just like regular links - I'll put an "advertisement" header above it so you'll know. I checked out the site and it seems legitimate. It'll be up for twelve months.

I'm really going to try and finally redo the layout of my site after I make some vids. I have the images worked out, and know what I'm going to do, so its just a matter of actually doing it. The site will look a lot cleaner then, and I'll be able to put other people's work on there as well.

If you have any videos, fanart, or other media that's not fiction and would like it displayed on my site, please email me or post a reply to any of my messages. I have an account at photobucket.com and plan to use it for hosting images, so I won't need to hotlink them. I will however need to hotlink (link directly to the file on your site) for video files and possibly some other stuff that are really large files - I do that for my vids already.

Corruption

So after frantically searching microsoft's website, and fiddling with Windows Movie Maker, I have come to the conclusion that "The Power Of Love" is corrupted and lost forever.

(sniffle)

And, after some yelling at my computer, the green dots still refuse to go away, at least until I get my new computer.

(sob)

But, there is an upside to this! While on the website I finally discovered how to make all of the transitions and video effects work, so my future vids should look a little more interesting. Also, this means that videos will be made for all requests on the waiting list, which should be done by next week.

Here's the list of vids that I will be working on:

I hate this computer.

I hate Windows Movie Maker.

I hate those stupid green dots that keep appearing in my vids.

Now that I got that out, here's the latest news:

1) Windows Movie Maker has reached a new level of annoyance. Now it won't let me finish "Power", which I was really trying to have done (hopefully it's Windows and not the vid file, 'cause remaking the whole thing would really, really suck). I'm getting a new computer sometime in October, so hopefully all problems will disappear (damn those dots!).

2) I'm gotten more requests, which are now on the waiting list. I promise, if you made a request a video will be made for it (if you sent a list then its most likely that 2 or 3 will be made, but once the first one is done you're moved back to the bottom of the list - I'm trying to make it fair). Once I get things working again, I hope to complete all requests on the list within about 2 1/2 weeks.

3) You guys rock! I'm still getting around 80 hits a day on my site, which is amazing considering that there hasn't been any new vids on in a while. I remember when I never got 80 hits, hmmm... those were the days :-)

4) Feel free to continue making requests, suggestions, and even complaints (although I would appreciate if you refrain from directing any insults towards me or the other visitors - constructive criticism is one thing but hate mail is in a category of its own).

There's been no new videos on my site in weeks, yet it's still getting about 85 hits a day... I guess I underestimated you guys (not that I'm any different - I watch my own videos for entertainment).

So here's the deal

I have finished about 1 minute of the vid for "The Power Of Love" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. It has the potential to be a really great vid, but making it is harder than I thought. Every time I add a clip I don't think it's good enough and take a break to think. Unfortunately the last break I took has lasted for about 10 days, and counting.

However, thanks to the amazing people who visit my site, I have had many other requests (usually given in a list of songs, which I love because it gives me a choice, plus you get more of your requests made). There's now a waiting list of three people, which has forced me to finally get to work on "Power". I plan on finishing it by early next week, but we all know how what I plan to do rarely ends up being what I actually do.

I'm going to try really, really, really hard to get the vids made, so please bare with me :-)

By the way, work on the new layout has been moving at a snail's pace, but progress is being made. (making vids = fun; making layout = not so much fun; therefore, a lot of work on videos, not so much work on layout)

If anyone has any fanart, music videos (movie and possibly evolution), sound bites, or any x-men media not including fanfiction (I'll leave that to the pros), AND you want it to be displayed on the new site, please email me. I'm going to use PhotoBucket to host the images, so I will not have to hotlink for those (I won't use up your bandwidth). Until I find a good FREE video and/or media hosting site, any other work will be hotlinked, simply because I don't have the space :-(

The vid for "It's Been a While" by Staind is up. I think I could have done a better job, but I still like it.

I don't know what my next video will be. I've had some more suggestions from Sax which I'm looking into, but more suggestions would help.

I've actually had a suggestion from my mom, who said that if I make the "I'm Too Sexy" vid, I should download clips of Hugh Jackman from other movies he's been in and combine them. It's a good idea but it will take a lot of work.

New Vid Possibilities

Hey

The next vid will be for "It's Been A While" by Staind. I didn't use to like the song, but heard it recently and realized it could make a great video. It will be a story vid, with Logan trying to convince Rogue to take him back after he did some horrible stuff.

"One Thing" by Finger Eleven is a possibility for a vid. The lyrics are good but I had tried using it before and didn't get past the first 20 seconds. I guess will see if it will work this time or not.

I'm looking for more requests and/or suggestions for my site and future vids. I'd love to give Logan/Rogue a break and use other pairings (I'm getting a little tired of Logan/Jean as well), so please let me know who'd you like to see together - the weirder the better!

Affection a Bust

So after many failed attempts to get the song "Love and Affection" by Joan Armstrong, I'm giving up on the video. If anyone has it, please let me know so I can try and get it from you / from wherever you got it from, and then finally make the video. (To Sax: I'm assuming you couldn't shrink the file since I haven't received it. If you did please try to send it again.)

The video I will be working on (and have the song for) is "Stupid" by Sarah McLaughlin. It will a Logan/Rogue vid, with Rogue realizing that Logan is no good for her and she should move on (I'm pretty sure it will work - I haven't looked over all of the lyrics yet).

I have an actual plan for a new layout and have some of it done. The new design should make it a lot easier to find what you want, and look cool as well.

Slither Finally Done!!!

Yay!

After posting that last message, I forced myself to sit down and finish "Slither" by Velvet Revolver, and finally did it! It's on the site now.

The next video will be for "Wild" by Poe, and will have a lot of Logan/Rogue angst (or as much as the clips allow). It was requested by Sax, who is great for choosing songs because the lyrics of the song are perfect. If you've never heard the song you'll know exactly what I mean when the video comes out. Of course, I'll have to chop out the large section of the song where nothing is really being said, since it's entire length is about 8 and a half minutes.

The song after that will be "Be Like That" by Three Doors Down, which was also requested. After that I may choose another song from Sax's list, or use one of the many ideas I have come up with.

Hey

I still haven't finished the video for "Slither" yet, mainly because I don't really like the song anymore so I'm not really interested in finishing it quickly. I've only got about 1:45 of the 4 minute song, and its harder than I thought to get clips that work with the lyrics, but not repeat them.

Some weird dude sent me a hate email saying that only brainless people "with a gun to their head" would waste time watching my videos. >:-( It's the first and hopefully only time I'll get one of those, since I appreciate constructive criticism but hate ass**** who only want to b***** and complain.

Anyway, slowly and surely I'll get more done.

Slither Help

Hi

Alright, so I've gotten lazy and haven't started the video for "Slither" by Velvet Revolver like I said I would, but now that I am trying to start it I need some help. What the heck is it going to be about? The lyrics describe a kind of relationship where one person has complete control and the other can't help but go along. Should it be Logan/Jean, Jean/Scott, or Logan/Rogue (I would like to take a break from this 'ship). It could also be about another couple with a power struggle, or contain multiple-ships.

Please vote by posting a comment to this message including any and all ships you would like included, or by emailing me below with the same info. The ship with the most votes will win, and if they are all different then I'll just choose the one that I think will work best.

The more suggestions the better.

Many Videos Lined Up

Hi

I'm currently working on a video for "Slither" by Velvet Revolver which was requested to me. That should be complete within a couple of days.

Sax, who had requested "100 Years" has given me numerous other video ideas, and I plan to make at least a couple of them. However I will stop ato work on any other requests that come in, and finish hers later, to keep things fair.

I've finally been able to remove the small image at the bottom of the x2 clips I've been using (you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a free ripper/converter that will rip/convert the entire movie from my dvd, without having an image at the bottom.). While I was doing that someone (possibly me) deleted the x1 movie. I had downloaded the full-screen version originally (I really do own the dvd, it just wasn't working!), but the version I have now is wide-screen. So, any new videos will probably be switching back and forth between full and wide, which bugs the hell out of me but isn't really that noticable for others.

The video for "I'm The Only One" by Melissa Etheridge is complete. I don't have any songs lined up for videos, so I'll have to wait for a request or until an idea pops into my head.

Abandoning Jack

Hi again

I've decided to abandon the "Jumping Jack Flash" video, since there are not enough Nightcrawler scenes to do a full-length video about him. I've done a few other videos with him in it before, and I guess I'll stick with combining him and others until x3 comes out with new clips.

The next video will be for "I'm The Only One" by Melissa Etheridge, which was requested. The video will about Rogue being jealous of the Logan/Jean situation, which was done before but in a different way.

I have some new ideas for creating a new layout, but since I'm an amatuer at Photoshop, I'm hoping that someone who has done X-Men Fanart can make a title and a link image for me. The new site will be called LRS Media, and will contain other people's videos, fanart, wallpapers, etc. along with my own. If you can help out in anyway, or would like your work to be posted, please email me at the address below.

Nightcrawler

Hi

I got an email a few weeks ago saying that I need to make more Nightcrawler videos, and I completely agree. The problem is, I don't know any songs that would suit him. As well, since Nightcrawler is only in the second video, and has very few scenes (compared to the other x-men), the song needs to be short or I have to cut it down. I've started a video for "Jumping Jack Flash" by the Rolling Stones, but am 1/3 of the way through and out of clips.

Please send song ideas!

100 Years

The video for "100 Years" by Five for Fighting is up on the site. It's different from what was suggested, and focusses on on a different X-Men member for each age in the song (Rogue is 15; Bobby is 22; Scott is 33; Magneto is 45; Xavier is 67; Logan is 99). I know the ages are off but it still works.

Hi

The video for "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls is complete and on the site. The next video will be "100 Years" by Five for Fighting, which was requested by Saxonny. I was actually thinking about making a video for that song when I first heard it a few months ago, but I've seen in done as a BtVS video and wasn't going to. I am now that it was requested.

My plans to redo the layout of my site are put on hold, since its a lot of work which I'd rather spend making more videos. If there's anyone who is good at creating images, and would volunteer to create a splash page or any other images that can be used on my site (fanart included), please email me at the address below. The more help I get the faster I can expand the site to include other people's work.

As you can probably tell by the multiple updates, I have a lot of spare time this week, which I have used to make more videos. I've just completed the video for "Broken" by Seether featuring Amy Lee. It didn't take as long to make as I thought it would, but I think still did a good job on it.

Like a Feather

I've finished the video for "Like a Feather" by Nikka Costa. I don't really like the song, but it was requested so I made a video for it. I had to chop the song down to about half its size, since there wasn't enough clips to follow the pattern I was using. I don't think anyone will notice the different though, cause I don't.

Next I'll be working on a video for "Broken" by Seether featuring Amy Lee. I have no idea when it will be completed.

Let Her Cry

I've just added a the video for "Let Her Cry" by Hootie and the Blowfish. It took a little longer than planned, but I'm glad it's finally done with. It's hard to make a five minute video without repeating any clips.

The song "Like a Feather" by Nikka Costa was requested, so I'm going to turn it into a Rogue video.

I would like to design a new layout so the site so its not so plain. I'll probably divide the videos into categories, which may be tricky since some have multiple pairings. I may even start adding videos from other authors, and maybe even some fanart. 2 New Videos + Changes to the Existing

Hey all

I've added two new videos: "Build a Bridge" by Limp Bizkit, and "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. I'll apologize ahead of time for "Take It" because I think its the worst video I've ever made, and does not do the song justice. I'm only posting it because of all the work I put in to it, along with the hope that someone out there will like it.

I'm currently adding a new start clip to all existing videos so people know they're mine. I originally meant to make a different one for each video, but that takes too much time and I'm pretty forgetful.

I'm working on a video for "Let Her Cry" by Hootie and the Blowfish, and it should be finished by tomorrow or the next day.

Whiskey Lullaby

Hi again.

I got bored and made a video for the song "Whiskey Lullaby" from the artist Brad Paisly featuring Alison Krauss. It was suppose to follow the lyrics almost exactly, with Logan being heartbroken by Rogue and turning to drinking then suicide. According to the lyrics, Rogue would then torture herself with the guilt and eventually commit suicide as well. The video started off following that plot but by the end I think it gets a little confusing, since most of the Rogue scenes include the dead Logan. Sorry if it ended up weird but I tried my best.
